We are actively seeking a Captain – Pilot Boats to carry out various pilotage maneuvers in the port of Trois-Rivières.

YOUR TALENTS WILL BE USED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CHALLENGES:

  • Lead a crew and ensure the smooth running of maneuvers.
  • Ensure that the vessel and crew have the necessary certification for the operations area.
  • Ensure that the vessel’s equipment is in good working order.
  • Ensure the vessel’s seaworthiness in all conditions.
  • Participate in the validation of repair and modification lists with the superintendent.
  • Inspect material, structure and equipment in accordance with the SINEX maintenance program.
  • Promote and maintain the health and safety of all persons on board the vessel.
  • Implement the company’s safety and environmental protection policies.
  • Implement and audit the company’s SMS (Safety Management System).
  • Operate vessels in accordance with company and industry-accepted practices.
  • Comply with the requirements issued by the Laurentian Pilotage Authority (LPA).
  • Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

 

OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE HAS:

  • Master, Limited for a Vessel of 150 GT or More
  • Valid medical certificate issued by Transport Canada
  • The following certificates:
    • MED Domestic Vessel Safety (DVS)
    • Basic first-aid training at sea
    • Restricted Commercial Marine Radio Operator (CRO-CM)
  • Experience on pilot boats (an asset)
  • Mechanical and/or SVMO knowledge (an asset)
  • Availability day, night and weekends
  • Good knowledge of navigation on the St. Lawrence River
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft 365, namely Outlook
  • Languages: advanced level in French and in English, oral and written (an asset).
