Assistance for the delivery of accommodation block of the resolve-class replenishment oiler AOR
Québec, May 1st, 2017 – Here we can see an impressive maneuver of the tugs OCEAN YVAN DESGAGNÉS and OCEAN K. RUSBY providing assistance to the Fairmount Glacier and the barge UR-171. This operation took place during the delivery of the accommodation block of the AOR replenishment oiler of the Royal Canadian Navy. The accommodation block is a 7-story superstructure weighing 2,200 tons. The construction of this supply tanker is being carried out at Chantier Davie Canada Inc. in Lévis and is entering its final phase thanks to the delivery of this module.
The Ocean teams, who once again demonstrate their know-how, have successfully completed this delicate maneuver.
For information
The conversion of the Asterix into the Resolve Class AOR consists of dismantling a modern ship to its hull and main propulsion system and then rebuilding the entire ship to military specifications.
