Mechanical dredging at Anse du Moulin

Armada deployed to decontaminate Anse du Moulin

Baie-Comeau, 2017 – As part of a project to rehabilitate Anse du Moulin, located within the Alcoa facilities, Ocean Dredging DM is chosen by the general contractor, Sanexen, to build a containment berm to enclose contaminated materials.

Afterward, more than 56,000 m3 of contaminated materials are mechanically dredged with an eco-friendly bucket specially adapted for the project. Backfilling work is then done to lay down clean materials on the river bottom to cover up the exposed materials.

Various equipment are used during the nine months of work, including dredges, different types of barges, an excavator, workboats and a survey boat.
